In 2019, the ITEC Team and I made a plan to improve our KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).  My summary of the ITEC 2019 KPI plan can be found HERE.

For 2020, I would like to propose the following initiatives.  I am also inviting the team to propose additional initiatives that we should work on.

Increasing Awards
  • 1 Cybersecurity: Teaching, learning and certification
Task 1.1 Starting a new degree in Cybersecurity
Task 1.2 Application for certification of Cyber Education Center
    Task 1.3 Cyber Defense Club
  • 2 Promoting the programs
Task 2.1 Twin Cities CoderDojo and Rebecca CoderDojo
Task 2.2 Working with the Foundation to connect to industry
Task 2.3 Working with UB Bank
Task 2.4 Working with employers through advisory board and career services
Task 2.5 Make our AAS transferable to Metro State.
Task 2.6 Connecting to more potential transfer destinations

Closing Achievement Gaps
  • 3 Advancing Teaching and Learning
Task 3.1 Reviewing and revising the prerequisites
Task 3.2 Dedicating time for faculty to discuss teaching.
Task 3.3 Dedicating time to discuss active learning strategies.
Task 3.4 Creating curriculum that best serve our students.
  • 4 Creating a vibrant learning community
Task 4.1 Women in Technology Club

Does the AAS Transfer to Metro include Computer Software Development? That is the degree most people ask about to transfer to Metro or anywhere else. Right now it is a stand alone 2 year degree with no transferability.

Thank you for planning to work on transferability. I have heard from students that they find themselves unable to transfer after some programs.
